Panasonic, IBM partner with Constellation Network to debut its DoD-vetted “Blockchain of Blockchains” in Global Hackathon

As a seasoned analyst with a background in blockchain technology and distributed ledger systems, I am thrilled to share my perspective on Constellation Network’s recent announcement of their Hypergraph metagraph hackathon. With over a decade of experience in the tech industry and having closely followed the evolution of Web3 technologies, I can attest to the potential impact that interoperability and collaboration across different networks and communities can have on the future of decentralized applications.

San Francisco, USA/California, July 15th, 2024, Chainwire

As a crypto investor excited about the future of blockchain technology, I’m thrilled to share that Web3 and Web2 developers now have the opportunity to build on Constellation Network’s innovative Hypergraph distributed ledger technology. This groundbreaking tech, which has been in development for several years under various contracts with the US Department of Defense, is finally ready for widespread use. I believe Constellation Network’s Hypergraph has the potential to revolutionize the way we approach blockchain development and I can’t wait to see what the community creates with this powerful tool.

The Constellation Global Metagraph Hackathon, hosted by Constellation Network, is a completely virtual competition open for participation at no cost. It will take place from July 15th to September 9th, 2024. A prize pool of $100,000 in equivalent value of $DAG, Constellation Network’s cryptocurrency, will be awarded to winners in various categories related to metagraph development and on-chain tools. The largest individual award, valued at $25,000, will go to the most accomplished Metagraph.

At the Hackathon event, Constellation introduces “metagraph” technology – an application layer that operates above Constellation’s global consensus layer, Hypergraph – to a global audience. Metagraph refers to any decentralized application (dApp) network or traditional Web2 platform with distinct internal business logic. Even other blockchains can function as metagraphs on top of Constellation’s Hypergraph.

“I, Ben Jorgensen, CEO of Constellation Network, believe that Constellation’s Hypergraph holds the key to unlocking the full potential of Web3 and blockchain technology. By fostering interoperability and collaboration among various blockchain networks and communities, we can collectively advance decentralized applications such as AI, tokenized assets, IoT edge computing, decentralized finance, and more.”

“However, what about the Hypergraph, Ben queries? This innovation could connect them all, ensuring interoperability, and providing a foundational infrastructure to safeguard their networks and authenticate their data streams.”

Panasonic and IBM collaborate with Constellation, SIMBA Chain, Stardust Collective, and National DigiFoundry, which includes members from the US National Science Foundation, US Space Force, and US Department of the Treasury, for the advancement of groundbreaking metagraph technologies that interact in unprecharted ways within the space.

Constellation’s Hypergraph network, designed by Constellation, is distinctly built using DAG technology and microservices. This foundation creates a versatile digital transfer system with an overlay (metagraph) that functions as an application network. This setup enables seamless interaction between Web3 and legacy Web2 networks, providing enhanced security, data verification, scalability, and straightforward onboarding – essential features for businesses and governments seeking adoption.

As a crypto investor, I’d describe interoperability in Web3 as the ability for different blockchain networks to seamlessly connect and exchange information with one another. Picture it like a bustling smart city or factory where various Internet of Things (IoT) devices communicate and share data. Each device represents its unique blockchain network, communicating across the underlying Hypergraph infrastructure. This interconnectedness enhances the overall functionality and value of the entire ecosystem.

“This year has been eagerly anticipated since our company’s inception. Our goal has consistently been to provide accessible and developer-friendly blockchain tools for the public. The commencement of this hackathon signifies just the beginning of the numerous possibilities metagraph can bring, with an seemingly endless array of applications. I am deeply grateful to my team for making this a reality, as well as to our partners who have supported us in bringing this vision to life.”

– Benjamin Diggles, Chief Strategy Officer

As a crypto investor, I would describe Constellation’s metagraphs in this way: With Constellation, I have the flexibility to work with any type of data, seamlessly connecting it to external sources. I can easily incorporate existing Scala or Java libraries into the network. What sets Constellation apart is the power to control validation and consensus logic within the network, giving me full autonomy. Moreover, its multilayered microservice architecture allows for effortless scaling to meet the demands of my applications.

As someone who has spent years working in the tech industry, I can tell you that this hackathon stands out from the crowd. It’s not just a competition, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for developers from all corners of the globe to be part of something truly groundbreaking.
