Peter Brandt Weighs In On Bitcoin’s Supremacy Over Gold

As a seasoned crypto investor with experience in following market trends and analyzing chart patterns, I agree with Peter Brandt’s assessment of Bitcoin’s performance relative to gold. While it’s true that Bitcoin has shown impressive gains recently, reaching prices above $67,000, the fact remains that it hasn’t surpassed its 2021 highs when adjusted for inflation or in comparison to gold.

Peter Brandt, a seasoned trader, remarked on Bitcoin‘s comparison to gold, noting that although Bitcoin has experienced gains lately, it has yet to reach its peak prices in 2021. In the past year, Bitcoin achieved prices exceeding $64,000 in April and almost hit $69,000 in November.

Despite the halving and the introduction of Bitcoin ETFs, Bitcoin’s price in real terms and compared to gold has not reached its peak from 2021. In simpler terms, even though significant events have taken place, Bitcoin has yet to surpass its highest value from that year. For a bull trend to be confirmed, new record-breaking prices are required. As for those in Missouri, they might say that Bitcoin hasn’t reached its previous best heights, adjusted for inflation or compared to gold, despite recent developments.

In March 2024, Bitcoin’s price soared to an astounding $73,750 due to optimistic expectations surrounding the upcoming halving events and the debut of Bitcoin ETFs. Despite this impressive gain, its value has yet to surpass previous highs in comparison to gold.

From a standpoint of gains, Bitcoin has shown an upward trajectory over the past few months and surpassed gold’s performance. Brandt’s graph comparing Bitcoin to gold illustrated their historical price differences. Nevertheless, Brandt emphasized that for this bullish wave to persist, Bitcoin needs to surmount the price thresholds it reached earlier in 2021.

Brandt’s observations underscore the ongoing volatility and speculative nature of Bitcoin. At the time of writing, Bitcoin is currently trading at a price of $67,619.05 with a 1.38% price drop within the last 24 hours as per Coinmarketcap stats.
