Pi Network mainnet update: Launch in Early 2025

As a seasoned crypto investor with a knack for spotting promising projects, I must admit that Pi Network has been on my radar for quite some time now. The project’s emphasis on accessibility and inclusivity resonates deeply with me, given my personal journey in this dynamic and often exclusive digital economy.

As a dedicated researcher delving into the fascinating world of cryptocurrencies, I’m thrilled to share that Pi Network has recently made substantial strides in their KYC (Know Your Customer) process and Mainnet migration. These advancements pave the way for an anticipated Open Network launch slated for Q1 2025, marking a significant milestone in their journey towards becoming a fully-fledged, decentralized network.

According to an official post on X, the project has reached over 18 million KYC’d users and over 8 million Mainnet migrated Pioneers.

Initially, it was expected that Pi Network’s mainnet would go live by the end of December 2024. However, the team has now shifted this timeline to Q1 (first quarter) of 2025. This adjustment is made to bridge the gap between users who have completed KYC (Know Your Customer) and those transitioning to the mainnet. The goal is to establish a secure and inclusive ecosystem before launching the open network, ensuring stability for all users.

Although some users might be displeased by the delay, Pi Network aims to address the challenges in Know Your Customer (KYC) and user migration, striving to create a comprehensive platform where everyone can fully benefit and realize their potential.

Why is Pi KYC important?

  1. Pi Network has always prioritized accessibility and inclusivity. We want as many Pioneers as possible who have been on this journey together to have the opportunity to use their Pi once Open Network launches.
  2. More Pi migrated to Mainnet before Open Network means more engagement and stability in the ecosystem.
  3. The millions of Pioneers who need to migrate to Mainnet may be in your Referral Teams and Security Circles. Their migrations mean you will receive more Pi based on the bonus Pi you mined attributed to them.

Chengdiao Fan and Nicolas Kokkalis, creators of the Pi Network, expressed that a larger presence of Pi on the main network would lead to increased involvement and stability within the ecosystem.
