As a long-time crypto investor who has seen my fair share of market volatility and cybersecurity threats, I can’t help but feel a sense of relief upon hearing about Resonance Security’s new tool, Harmony. The constant threat of DNS hijackings and CDN manipulations looming over the crypto space is a cause for concern that keeps me up at night.
Expert: A leading blockchain security company, Resonance Security, is introducing a novel solution designed to safeguard web3 protocols against malicious activities related to DNS (Domain Name System) and CDN (Content Delivery Network) manipulation.
“Resonance Security has created a innovative device that takes regular images of the web’s status, encompassing DNS records and scripts from cryptographic sites, with the aim of identifying any unapproved changes in real-time.”
Based on a recent announcement from crypto.news, there’s a new tool named “Harmony” that allows crypto investors to identify early signs of Content Delivery Network (CDN) hijackings and Domain Name System (DNS) manipulations. These techniques are frequently used by malicious actors to establish deceptive websites and pilfer personal information.
Charles Dray, CEO of Resonance Security, explains that the proposed solution aims to prevent DNS takeovers and shield projects from being targeted by malicious hacking organizations, putting their confidential data at risk.
“It’s important for an organization’s cybersecurity plans to stay aligned with the constantly changing landscape of cyber threats.”

DNS hijacking has gained popularity among cybercriminals as a method of choice for launching attacks. Notable instances, like those targeting Celer Network and Compound Finance, serve as reminders of the risk crypto websites face from this type of assault. The precise scope of the attack is still unclear, but it’s estimated that around 11 platforms, including Pendle Finance, Polymarket, and THORChain, could potentially be vulnerable.
multiple crypto projects have had their domains mysteriously hijacked from their @squarespace account. consider transferring your domain to one of these instead:
– @Cloudflare
– @awscloud Route53
– @markmonitor
– @CSCDBS— samczsun (@samczsun) July 11, 2024
An anonymous researcher using the alias “samczsun” from Paradigm has proposed that the hacks may have stemmed from Google Domains accounts linked to these specific protocols. It’s worth mentioning that last year, Squarespace purchased Google Domains in a deal estimated to be worth $180 million.
“According to Resonance Security, their new technology employs artificial intelligence to reduce false alarms and save time for both the client and Resonance’s support team in analyzing findings.”
