In a shocking turn of events, the play-to-earn NFT game, Step Hero, has become the latest victim of a dastardly cyber heist! Reports are flying around that the multiverse game has lost a whopping $89K in Binance Smart Chain (BNB) currency. Ouch!
The nefarious deed was carried out through an address funded by none other than Tornado Cash – a cryptocurrency mixer with a reputation for making mischief and masking transaction origins. This makes it as easy as a greased pig to slip through the fingers of anyone trying to trace the mischief-makers.
But never fear, intrepid blockchain security platform Cyvers Alerts was on the case! They detected the suspicious activity on Step Hero’s contract and flagged the Tornado Cash-funded address in the blink of an eye. What a bunch of heroes!
Now, although Step Hero hasn’t officially admitted to any hack, they’ve probably been too busy counting their losses to make an announcement. So, dear players, remember to stay vigilant! Step Hero is a fantasy-themed RPG game that combines NFT collectibles with DeFi. You can collect heroes, engage in thrilling battles, and earn tokens through gameplay. The game even has a marketplace for trading NFTs and a staking system for earning rewards. But it seems the only ones earning rewards right now are the villains!
