The highly anticipated NFL game of the 2025 season is set to air on television schedules soon, and along with it, commercials are beginning to make their appearance. In a unique collaboration, Tom Brady and Snoop Dogg have teamed up for an advertisement that will be shown during Super Bowl 2025 if you choose to stream the event. This ad carries a message against hate, but unfortunately, it appears to be falling flat with the public, as comments about it on social media do not align with what the creators likely expected.
In his ongoing television endeavors, Tom Brady has teamed up with the Foundation To Combat Antisemitism and iconic rapper Snoop Dogg. These two prominent figures had a discussion about things they dislike. Ultimately, they concluded that it’s regrettable that the world is so divided and filled with hate that they felt compelled to create an advertisement expressing this sentiment. As Super Bowl Sunday approaches, you can watch their united stance in the commercial below:
[Insert Commercial Here]
The advertisement spread widely online, but I’m not convinced it will be as iconic as some of TopMob’s preferred Super Bowl ads from 2024. Despite its aim to combat hate, which is commendable, it appears that social media users are ironically expressing dislike towards the ad through X. Here are some responses you might find:
- This is the cringiest commercial I’ve ever seen ngl – @Degen__inc
- This commercial kinda trash – @Messages_Left
- this is so stupid. – @elydia351
- This commercial did the opposite of what it was indented to do. – @ghostbestie057
- Lots of sexual tension – @Smackover7
It appears that most people believe this advertisement misses the mark, and to echo the sentiments on the web, joining forces Snoop Dogg and Tom Brady seems like an unusual match. While one is famed for swiftly preparing joints, the other is renowned as one of the greatest NFL quarterbacks in history. There doesn’t seem to be much common ground between these two figures, let alone a reason for them to harbor animosity towards each other.
It seems the intention behind this advertisement was likely to spark thoughtful debate and make an impact during these contentious times in the U.S., but it may not receive as much focus as a hypothetical follow-up ad featuring Ben Affleck from last year’s Dunkin’ campaign, which garnered such widespread appeal that the company even marketed merchandise based on it.
Perhaps the people of X aren’t always a reflection of the general public’s thoughts, so it’s possible that the commercial might be more favorably received either before or following the game, given that Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show is also scheduled. It’s purely speculation, but I wouldn’t be shocked if we see a resurgence of reactions on Sunday night when the commercial airs. I’ve mentioned it before, but it seems necessary to repeat: Why did they choose Snoop Dogg and Tom Brady to convey this particular message?
On Sunday, February 9th, starting at 6:30 pm Eastern Time, the Super Bowl event will commence on Fox. You can look forward to numerous advertisements worth talking about, an electrifying halftime show, and naturally, a football match sandwiched in between!
