Two prominent figures at OKX, including Tim Byun, who managed global government relations, and Wei Lan, head of product, unexpectedly departed from the second-largest cryptocurrency exchange globally, according to reliable sources.
For a period of two years between 2018 and 2020, Byun held the position of CEO at Okcoin’s American branch. Later, she moved on to take up a role in government relations.
A person who is well-versed in the subject confirmed that Wei Lan handled the majority of trading desk activities at OKX.
The exchange group is shifting from maintaining a separate U.S. identity and instead unifying its elements under the sole OKX brand. Notably, Patrick Donegan, the head of OKX Global Compliance, departed in January, joining other recent exits.
