It’s being said that President-elect Donald Trump might be thinking about a “U.S.-first” approach to cryptocurrency reserves, focusing on digital currencies originating from within America, as per the New York Post report.

Discussions revolve around the possibility of incorporating digital currencies like Solana, USD Coin, and Ripple.

According to sources familiar with the situation, Trump has recently held talks with the creators of these initiatives and appears open to the concept. It’s been reported that he intends to prioritize domestic cryptocurrencies within his proposed “America-first” approach to a digital currency reserve.

Less eyes on Bitcoin? 

As a researcher delving into the realm of cryptocurrencies, I’ve noticed that my proposed ideas have sparked some apprehension, especially within the Bitcoin enthusiast community.

Critics contend that focusing on U.S.-issued cryptocurrencies might undermine attempts to make Bitcoin (BTC) the dominant digital currency within the U.S. cryptocurrency sector, a role that Trump had emphasized during his campaign.

Even with their reservations, experts within the crypto sector continue to be hopeful about the wider influence of President Trump’s pro-cryptocurrency policies.

The new government has made known its intentions to enact executive orders aimed at reducing regulations in the sector, create a Presidential Advisory Council focused on cryptocurrencies, revoke limitations like SAB 121, and establish the U.S. as a leading global center for Bitcoin mining operations.

Trump designated investor David Sacks as our country’s inaugural advisor on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cryptocurrencies. A festive Cryptocurrency Gala is planned for January 19th, with notable sponsors such as Coinbase, Solana, and Kraken.
